The smaller companion (5/8" wide) to the larger skew, in a powdered metal high wear, high speed steel known as 2030.
Tool is approximately 21"in length, blade is 6.75" long, 3/8" thick, 5/8" wide.
Hamlet Lacer Skew 5/8¿ 2030
The same design as the M2 version of this tool but in a higher wear steel, 2030 powdered metal high speed steel. Higher wear translates to longer periods of working before you need to stop and hone or grind. Grinding with this steel is readily handled by any good quality friable aluminum oxide wheel or a wheel containing SG material (such as the Norton 3X wheels).
Blade length is around 6.5", with overall length approximately 21". Alan does offer a sharpening service for this skew (look under "Skews" on this site).
The area behind the short point is fully rounded all the way back to the ferrule--excellent for rolling beads or any other convex cut.
