A new tool from Hamlet of Sheffield England that replaces the use of a right and left sided shear scraper for the out side of face-grain bowls. Shear scraping is a finishing technique that requires the tool to be twisted up off the rest on one side to approximately 45 degrees--than pulled lightly across the outside of the bowl to produce one of the best finishes known. It is remarkable that it replaces two tools into one, but also the lower corners that ride on the tool rest are fully rounded--something that in the past the turner was required to do.
