Steel hard rod  to create your own style of burnisher.  Rod is 3/8" diameter 3" long polished very hard steel..  The ferrule is solid stainless steel.  Wood is NOT included. 
Used in traditional woodworking to raise a burr on scrapers, and re-introduced to the turning field by Alan to use on turning tool scrapers.  Such a burr produced on scrapers gives far more control and uniformity of the burr  (the real "cutting" edge when using scrapers) than those off the grinder.  This is especially  true for finishing burrs.  This kit is quite different from traditional scraper burnishers:  is shorter  and therefore easier to handle, is polished hard steel-- and you are given the opportunity to create a handle that really fits your hands--not some generic handle.  Wood is NOT included.
