The smaller companion to the larger skew from Hamlet, in M2 high speed steel, 3/8" thick and 5/8" wide, approximately 21" overall length, with blade length at 6.75".

Alan's favorite tool for rolling beads, cutting coves and any close quarters work.  Combined with the large1 3/8" skew, one has the complete set of skews for between center work.  Made of a true high speed steel (m2) you will find it has excellent edge holding properties and can handle most overheating from tool grinding.  The area behind the short point or heel is fully rounded all the way back to the ferrule area.  This allows for gliding and smooth rolling--especially when rolling beads or any convex cut with the skew. Alan does offer a sharpening service for this tool  (look under "Skews" on this site for pricing).  

The grind is Alan's favorite, which has many advantages over a traditionally ground skew  (see Alan's site for more details on that matter:   www.alanlacer.com).
