Oneway Large Ring/Safe Driver #2 MT

This is a larger version of the standard Oneway Ring/Safe Driver in a #2 Morse taper. The "standard" size is 5/8" in diameter while this one is 7/8".  This will give more driving power for larger pieces.  This takes the place of a spur center in the headstock to drive between center work.  Drive is controlled by how hard you crank down the tailstock hand wheel.  Mark the center and drive hard into the end-grain with a dead blow mallet.   Periodically refresh the outside ring by filing the edge with the lathe moving, using a fine-cut mill file.  Once more confident with your turning I suggest filling three shallow notches into the sharpened ring, easily done with a chainsaw file.
