A high quality 1 1/4" wide spindle roughing gouge, high speed steel  from Hamlet of Sheffield England.  This is the unhandled version.
A wonderful tool for removing corners, cylinders, tapers, shallow and wide concave and convex cuts in between center turning  (grain is parallel to bed of lathe).  DO NOT USE THESE GOUGES FOR FACE-GRAIN BOWL TURNING--bending or breaking of the tang is a real possibility, resulting in injury!

The tool is 1 1/4" across the flutes  (measured from outside of one flute to the inside of the other---English method), 8.75" in length with the flute about 5.75" long.
