A novel approach to the bowl gouge: two different ends in order to have the same grind on both ends OR different grinds. Needless to say, you'll need an interchangeable handle--see the Oneway 17.5" handle on this site or the package offered of this gouge and the handle.
The gouge is 5/8" in diameter (called a 1/2" in the English system, called 5/8" in the North American system).
The tool is a real sleeper in the field, not known by many. It is made from the favorite steel of Alan (used in his Uber Skews)--powdered metal M4 HSS. The flute is very clean and a perfect shape. The overall length is 15.5" with 6" flutes.
