This is the bowl gouge that changed the face of contemporary bowl turning.  Introduced by Henry Taylor Tools of Sheffield  (now combined with Hamlet Tools) in 1978 it was the first gouge that became known as a "bowl gouge."

The size I carry is from a 5/8" diameter rod, so is known in the British system as a 1/2" bowl gouge.  The overall length is just over 25", the steel extending from the handle is just over 9".

It comes with a traditional straight grind, with a 45 degree bevel angle.  If you prefer more of a fingernail shape and a 55 degree bevel angle, purchase my "Hamlet Sharpening Service" on this web site.
